Welcome to Windy Hilltop Publishing. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern purchases of and participation in services provided by Windy Hilltop Publishing (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
By purchasing, ordering, or using our services, you agree to these Terms.
Windy Hilltop Publishing provides professional book sell sheet design and related publishing services for authors and publishers.
A standard book sell sheet order includes:
The overall structure and visual style of the selected design remain consistent with the template purchased.
Specific features may vary depending on the product or service selected. The applicable product description at the time of purchase forms part of these Terms.
Payment is required in full before work begins.
Payments may be processed through third-party payment platforms such as Gumroad.
Prices are those displayed on the applicable product or checkout page at the time of purchase.
An order is considered placed when payment has been successfully completed.
Submission of payment does not begin the stated turnaround period until Windy Hilltop Publishing has received the materials reasonably required to complete the project.
Clients are responsible for providing the information and materials reasonably necessary to complete their project.
Depending on the service purchased, this may include book information, book descriptions, an author biography, book cover files, author photographs, ISBN information, pricing, publication details, website links, QR-code destinations, retailer or distributor information, and other requested materials.
The client is responsible for reviewing submitted information for accuracy.
This includes information such as:
Windy Hilltop Publishing may reasonably rely on information supplied by the client.
Delays, incomplete materials, inaccurate information, or failure to respond to requests for clarification may delay completion of the project.
By submitting text, photographs, book covers, artwork, logos, trademarks, quotations, endorsements, reviews, or other materials to Windy Hilltop Publishing, the client represents that they own those materials or have obtained the rights, licenses, permissions, or authorizations necessary for their use in the requested project.
The client authorizes Windy Hilltop Publishing to access, reproduce, resize, crop, edit, format, arrange, and incorporate submitted materials as reasonably necessary to perform the purchased services and create the requested deliverables.
Submission of materials does not transfer ownership of the client's original materials to Windy Hilltop Publishing.
The client remains responsible for the legality, accuracy, and authorized use of materials they provide.
Windy Hilltop Publishing is not responsible for copyright, trademark, licensing, publicity-rights, or other intellectual-property claims arising from materials supplied or specifically requested by the client, except to the extent responsibility cannot legally be excluded.
Standard sell sheet delivery is generally 2–3 business days after all required materials have been received.
The turnaround period does not begin merely upon purchase if required materials have not yet been submitted.
Delivery times are estimates rather than guaranteed deadlines and may vary due to project complexity, incomplete information, revision requests, technical issues, workload, holidays, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
If additional information is required from the client, work may be placed on hold until the requested information is received.
Each standard sell sheet order includes one (1) revision round following delivery of the initial design.
An included revision round may cover reasonable changes such as text corrections, factual updates, minor content changes, replacement of supplied information, and small adjustments that remain within the purchased design.
A revision round does not include a complete redesign, creation of an entirely different concept, substantial restructuring of the selected template, or switching to another sell sheet style.
Additional revision rounds may be purchased for $29 per revision round.
If requested changes substantially exceed the original project scope, Windy Hilltop Publishing may provide a separate price or require a new order before completing those changes.
Windy Hilltop Publishing's sell sheet products use established professional design structures.
Clients select a design style when ordering. The client's book information, images, descriptions, author information, and other project content are customized within that design.
The purchase does not include unlimited customization of the underlying template.
Full redesigns, substantial layout changes, creation of entirely new templates, or switching design styles after work has begun are not included unless specifically agreed to in writing.
Minor adjustments may be made when Windy Hilltop Publishing determines they improve readability, accuracy, balance, or presentation.
Windy Hilltop Publishing may edit, refine, shorten, reorganize, or format client-provided text when necessary to create an effective sell sheet or other purchased deliverable.
This may include creating or refining headlines, brief promotional descriptions, author information, retail-facing language, or other marketing copy based on information supplied by the client.
The client is responsible for reviewing the project for factual accuracy before final approval.
Windy Hilltop Publishing will not knowingly create false awards, endorsements, sales claims, retailer availability claims, professional credentials, or other material factual representations.
Clients are encouraged to carefully review their initial design and revision proof.
The client is responsible for identifying incorrect or outdated information supplied by the client, including ISBN numbers, prices, publication dates, spelling of names, website addresses, retailer information, and QR-code destinations.
Windy Hilltop Publishing will make reasonable efforts to identify obvious errors but cannot independently verify every fact supplied by a client.
Once the included revision process is complete and the final deliverable has been provided, additional changes may be subject to an additional revision fee.
Because Windy Hilltop Publishing provides custom design services, all sales are final once work has begun.
A client may request cancellation before any design or content work has started. Refund requests submitted before work begins will be reviewed and may be approved at Windy Hilltop Publishing’s discretion.
Once work has begun, including content editing, layout preparation, design work, creation of mockups, or preparation of an initial draft, the order becomes nonrefundable.

If Windy Hilltop Publishing is unable to provide the purchased service for reasons within our control, we may issue a full or partial refund as appropriate.
Nothing in this policy limits any consumer rights that cannot legally be waived..
Although custom-service refunds are limited as described above, Windy Hilltop Publishing wants clients to receive a polished and professional final product.
We will work within the included revision round to correct errors and make reasonable adjustments that fall within the scope of the purchased service.
Our satisfaction commitment does not include unlimited revisions, complete redesigns, changes of template, or work beyond the service originally purchased.
After full payment, clients may use the final sell sheet or other completed deliverable for their own book promotion, marketing, distribution outreach, retailer outreach, media outreach, events, websites, social media, and other personal or commercial promotional purposes related to their book or publishing activities.
The client retains ownership of the original content and materials they supplied.
Windy Hilltop Publishing retains ownership of its underlying templates, reusable design systems, methods, processes, and other pre-existing materials used to create the deliverable.
Purchase of a completed sell sheet does not transfer ownership of the underlying Windy Hilltop Publishing template for resale, redistribution as a template, sublicensing, or use to create competing commercial templates.
Windy Hilltop Publishing may display a completed project as an example of its work in a portfolio, website, social media account, promotional materials, or other business marketing.
If a client does not want their completed project displayed publicly, they may request this in writing by contacting Windy Hilltop Publishing.
We will honor reasonable requests not to use a client's completed project for future portfolio or promotional purposes.
Windy Hilltop Publishing provides design, formatting, and related publishing services.
We do not guarantee:
Purchase of a sell sheet does not guarantee that any bookstore, retailer, distributor, reviewer, or customer will purchase, stock, promote, review, or otherwise engage with the client’s book.
A professionally prepared sell sheet is a marketing and presentation tool. Results depend on numerous factors outside the control of Windy Hilltop Publishing.
Terms such as “bookstore-ready,” “retail-ready,” or similar descriptions refer to the intended professional presentation and use of the deliverable and do not constitute a guarantee that any bookstore, retailer, distributor, reviewer, or other third party will accept or act upon it.
The inclusion of a retailer, distributor, marketplace, or other third-party name or information in a client project is based on information supplied or approved by the client.
Clients are responsible for accurately representing where their book is available and how it is distributed.
Windy Hilltop Publishing is an independent business and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting on behalf of Amazon, IngramSpark, Ingram Content Group, Barnes & Noble, or other retailers, distributors, or publishing platforms unless expressly stated otherwise.
When a project includes a QR code or external website link, the client is responsible for providing the correct destination.
Windy Hilltop Publishing may test QR codes and links as part of the design process, but we cannot guarantee the continued availability or operation of third-party websites or URLs after delivery.
Changes made to a website, URL, retailer listing, or third-party platform after completion of the project are outside our control.
Windy Hilltop Publishing may use third-party services to operate its business and provide client services, including payment processors, website providers, email services, file-storage services, and other technology providers.
These may include Gumroad and GoDaddy.
Windy Hilltop Publishing is not responsible for service interruptions, outages, account restrictions, processing delays, policy changes, or other issues caused solely by independent third-party services.
Use of third-party services may also be subject to those providers' own terms and privacy policies.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Windy Hilltop Publishing will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or speculative damages arising from the use of our services or completed deliverables, including lost sales, lost profits, lost business opportunities, retailer rejection, or marketing results.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Windy Hilltop Publishing's total liability arising from a particular purchased service will not exceed the amount actually paid to Windy Hilltop Publishing for that service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Information and materials provided to Windy Hilltop Publishing are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, retain, and protect personal information and client-submitted materials.
We may update these Terms from time to time.
When changes are made, the revised Terms will be posted on our website with an updated effective date.
For an existing order, the version of the Terms in effect when the client placed the order will generally govern that purchase unless a later change is required by law or the parties agree otherwise.
